Be it a hotel, hospital, shopping mall, theme park, office space, multiplex, or any other similar establishment, restrooms are one of the most important elements of any commercial space. Giving the increasing scarcity of space, utilising the bathroom space to the maximum extent becomes necessary. To help, in this blog post, we share simple effective tips to give a spacious look to your commercial restrooms. Read on.

Use Reflective Surfaces and Mirrors

Installing mirrors and other reflective surfaces is one of the most effective ways to make your restroom appear spacious. Is therefore advisable to go for bathroom cubicles and shower cubicles, urinal dividers and stalls with reflective surfaces. Installing urinal dividers and bathroom cubicles with reflective surfacing enhances the privacy in a restroom while making it look more spacious.

Pay Attention to Lighting

If done judiciously, natural lighting can make your bathroom look more spacious and larger than it actually is. As people need privacy in restrooms, the windows and vents for inviting natural light should not be barge in their sacred space. Using a frosted glass can help you maintain privacy while inviting more natural light into the restroom. You can also go for ceiling vents for natural light, which do not risk the privacy of users. For artificial lighting, consider recessed lighting on the ceiling as they are also known to project spaciousness.

Go for Light Colors

Light colors are known to reflect light whereas dark colors tend to absorb it. Besides having mirrors and reflective surfaces in your commercial restrooms, you can go for light colors for the cubicles, cabinets and other elements to boost the overall spaciousness of the space. Paint the restroom in shades of white or a similar light color. You can go for fixtures and accessories in darker colors to create a contrast and give a touch of sophistication to the overall appeal.

Have a Single Storage Closet Outside the Restroom

Avoid positioning the janitor’s closet inside the restroom. When low on space, placing the janitor closet inside the restroom will leave less space for essential elements. Instead, place the janitor’s closet in the vicinity of the restroom. As you can use a common janitor’s closet for both men’s and women’s restrooms, you can place it right between both. This way, you can use a single closet instead of having to install two, thereby saving space.

Wrap Up

Having a limited area doesn’t necessarily mean you have to compromise on the ambience, look and feel of your commercial restroom. To enhance the comfort levels in a small restroom, make it a point to keep it well maintained and ensure that it is clean at all times. Greenlam Sturdo features a wide range of bathroom cubicles and bathroom shower cubicles that are durable, easy-to-maintain and come in a wide range of design options.
